Hello there! I hope this newsletter finds you safe and well. Although we have been missing seeing all our lovely families during the last few months, we have been anything but quiet.

I’m pleased to say that we have taken a leaf out of our own book and have been working on developing and improving our practice, coming up with creative and effective ways of helping our children and young people as well as supporting parents and schools. I just want to share a few things we have getting up to.

Launch of new website and activity packs:

Let us know what you think of our new website. There is plenty of fantastic information available. We wanted to provide an engaging space where you can get reliable and easily accessible information to help your children or the children you work with.

If you’re stuck for summer activities, check out our activity packs for some simple, fun ways to practice and learn.

Is there anything you would like to see on there? I would love to hear from you.

Teletherapy success:

Our telepractice is proving an enormous success. This is an affordable and accessible way to continue with your Speech and Language Therapy without all the travel. And what’s more, this way of working has an evidence-base to demonstrate it works.

Our team have absolutely loved coming up with personalised and motivating activities and both parents and children are really reaping the benefits.

New training now available:

In more usual times, when we are working in schools, we are passionate about training - helping schools raise standards in speech, language and communication and in equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to help children reach their potential.

I believe we are more than the sum of our parts and the last few months have been a fantastic opportunity for us to work together, pooling all our knowledge and expertise to create a series of first-class training and intervention programmes. These programmes are designed to be affordable and can be delivered flexibly to suit individual schools’ needs.

If you want to know more about these – check out our training page – or give me a call.

Our home:

Last but by no means least, we are so fortunate to be able to work in our beautiful new home at Grange Park, Wetherby, with its superb facilities and stunning location. We are already starting face to face therapy again and it’s wonderful! Please give me a call if you think you might be able to visit us.

I believe that communication is the fundamental means by which people can achieve freedom.  Here at The Talking House, our purpose is for each and every child to reach their potential.

Every action we take impacts someone else. If we do our best and do the right thing at every point, then we cannot help but be successful.

Let us know how we can help you.
