Coaching for schools

Calling all teachers, Support Staff, SENCOs or school Trust Senior Leaders!

Did you know that speech, language and communication difficulties are the most common forms of Special Educational Needs, and many go undetected and untreated. In some schools, there can be as many as 5 children in every class.

More recently, the Covid pandemic will result in many more children with untreated communication disorders entering school over the coming years. As an educator you’ll know the profound consequences of not giving the right help at the right time to children with speech, language and communication needs (or SLCN).

Talking Solutions

Children with SLCN are at risk of:

  • poorer literacy skills

  • reduced social and emotional development

  • low self esteem

As adults, SCLN can impact people’s:

  • mental health

  • relationships

  • education and employment opportunities

  • quality of life

  • finances

But with the right support, we can give children a better future.

The Talking House has a substantial portfolio of successful commissions with education providers and Local Authority Children and Young People Services. With decades of experience of working in schools, I have a longstanding reputation for quality, reliability and value for money. I have a reliable track record for improving outcomes for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) as well as in raising standards across the curriculum.

Let me share my knowledge and experience with you, to give you all the tools that you need to get the results you are looking for with the Talking Solutions package.

Talking Solutions packages include:

  • A ‘communication friendly’ school consultation

I will help you create a ‘blueprint’ for equipping your setting with all the skills and resources to demonstrate ‘best practice’. I will also support you through all the stages and help you monitor (and celebrate) your progress.

You need a Speech and Language Therapist who understands the needs of schools and the challenges they face and can support them to:

    • identify the needs and challenges faced, especially those from vulnerable or disadvantaged backgrounds

    • make the most of what already have in place

    • advise them on creating a long-term strategy that will guarantee better outcomes

    • provide the right specific advice, training and support for your staff to feel confident that they are doing their best for the children in their classrooms no matter what their difficulties.

  • Training packages

Because every school is unique, I tailor my services to match your needs. I will take the time to listen and advise you on the best plan of action depending on your priorities and budget.

This training package provide flexible online learning and CPD for education professionals to create measurable results for your children.

In addition to ‘ready-to-go’ training packages, I create bespoke training for education settings and parents.

I am also a licensed Elklan tutor which means your staff will have accredited training to help you acheive ‘Communication Friendly’ school status

All training is informed by the evidence base, uses interactive teaching methods and includes applicable practical strategies.
